A Path Through the Wilderness

Day 304

August 14, 2002

The driveway is finally in, with only one mishap. In the steepest
portion, the asphalt guys couldn't get the truck hauling the hot rock
to stop pouring. The tailgate, hanging open on a 27% grade, wouldn't
close and two men at once couldn't force it closed. So one entire load
got packed into this steepest bit. Everyone needs a foot of blacktop here
and there.

Do you remember rain? This is the last rain worth the name, almost
a month ago. It was the first in several weeks.
